The Beautiful City of Roma

Rome is a beautiful city steeped in history, combining the ancient remains of a 2000-year past with the excitement of a modern European capital. It offers its visitors more to see than any other city in the world.

The Vatican City (Papal State), including St Peter's and the Sistine Chapel, is a ten-minute walk from the hotel.

Among other attractions that are only minutes away is the Pantheon on Via del Seminario, built by the architect Emperor Hadrian 2000 years ago, a huge, domed roof housing the tomb of Raphael, and the Santa Maria Sopra Minerva, a Gothic, 13th-century church in Centro Storico that houses the tombs of wealthy Romans and priceless frescoes.

The Campidoglio is the city hall, located on the Capitoline Hill. One of Rome's most elegant squares, it was designed by Michaelangelo and features some of the city's primary classical sculpture and museums.

Secret Garden Table

An exclusive dining experience makes its debut amidst the greenery of the historic monumental garden at the Hotel De Russie.

Hotel de Russie in Rome, presents the "Secret Garden Table," located in a hidden corner of ‘Le Jardin de Russie’, a green oasis described by Jean Cocteau as an "earthly paradise" in the heart of the Eternal City in 1917. Here, guests are invited to enjoy an exclusive dining experience designed by Chef Fulvio Pierangelini.

Hidden amidst the flowers, trees, grottoes and nymphaea of the historic garden, the secret table is unbeatable in ambience, perfect for a romantic evening or a special moment with friends. Designed by architect Giuseppe Valadier in the 19th century, the enchanting setting is matched with a culinary experience that includes a custom-designed menu by Chef Fulvio Pierangelini and ad-hoc floral arrangements by Sebastian Flowers, promising total synergy with the urban nature that surrounds.

For Hotel de Russie guests, the immersion in greenery need not end here, with the option to stay in one of the hotel’s Garden Suites. Recently redesigned and renovated by Olga Polizzi, Deputy Chairman and Director of Design of Rocco Forte Hotels, the suites blend harmoniously with their view of Rome's most beautiful garden.

From Florence to Palermo by sportscar with Rocco Forte Hotels. Summer 2024 marks the start of a customizable journey through a combination of nine regions and eight hotels.

New for summer 2024, Rocco Forte Hotels are excited to announce an exclusive sports car experience spanning nine Italian regions and eight different hotels. “Italy at 100 mph” promises a memorable journey through the Italian countryside via Ferrari, Lamborghini or Maserati, available to be taken as a couple, a family or a group of up to forty sports cars.

The route passes through the verdant vineyards of Tuscany, exploring roads that date back to the Roman Empire, carrying on to the Eternal City of Rome and finishing in the Mediterranean paradise of Sicily. The four-wheel-excursion is available to drive independently, with a driver or with an escort vehicle upon request.

From a one-day itinerary to an epic ten-day tour, “Italy at 100 mph” offers various combinations of journey by sports car, passing through Tuscany, Lazio, Umbria, Abruzzo, Campania, Calabria, Puglia, Basilicata and Sicily. After thrilling days on the road, guests can absorb the culture of each region whilst staying at a Rocco Forte Hotel. Aquazzurra unveils its first bar at Hotel De Russie in Rome

Italian luxury fashion brand Aquazzura and the iconic Hotel de Russie have partnered to create the first-ever Aquazzura Bar.

A secret garden nestled within a secret garden - the Aquazzura Bar enhances the essence of La Dolce Vita in the historic Hotel de Russie's hidden courtyard. Once inside the hotel's majestic entrance, guests are led to an enchanting, flourishing oasis that unfolds like the pages of an exciting storybook, invisible from the street yet captivating in its refined beauty.

The concept, inspired by Aquazzura Casa Secret Garden tableware collection, perfectly complements the hidden, magical Valadier Garden, with its botanical-inspired design reminiscent of 18th-century illustrations, enriched with birds and butterflies in lush, verdant tones.

The space is elegantly framed by dual-patterned custom awnings that juxtapose the distinct signature Aquazzura motifs—iconic black and white stripes face the exterior, while the interior unveils the whimsical Secret Garden pattern, creating an ever-changing visual narrative.

Bespoke Portuguese tiles, hand-painted with delicate lemon motifs, adorn the bar, paying homage to Italy's colorful citrus groves. Conceived by design studio Casa do Passadiço, the bar features elegant metal outdoor furniture with tufted chairs and comfortable sofas.

Green trelliswork and lemon trees in striped planters frame the area, creating an enchanting garden atmosphere that complements the Hotel de Russie's famous courtyard gardens rising dramatically behind the bar.

The cocktail menu created by Federico Pavan and executed by Matteo Capezzuoli, reflects Edgardo Osorio's well-known passion for tequila and features signature drinks artfully prepared with precision and a touch of magic.

Standout offerings include a monthly rotating frozen Margarita made with the finest tequila, fresh lime, and seasonal fruits, alongside the Agave Nero—Osorio's tequila-based interpretation of an Espresso Martini. Guests will savour the refined selection of tapas created by Chef Fulvio Pierangelini, Creative Food Director of Rocco Forte Hotels, served on the exquisite Aquazzura Casa porcelain collection for a new gastronomic experience.

Palaces of Tuscia - Palazzo Farnese in Caprarola and Viterbo |Perfect for a day trip, the Tuscia countryside offers gentle hills, lakes and delightful hamlets dating back to Etruscan times. The tour starts in the town of Caprarola with a visit to the Palazzo Farnese, symbol of one of the Renaissance’s most influential noble families. Shaped like a pentagon, the Palace has a striking hillside location and houses several grand halls, italianate gardens framed by fountains, a hunting lodge, and a magnificent cycle of Mannerist frescoes. The visit will be followed by a walking tour of Viterbo, a medieval town known as the ‘City of Popes’.
